A perfect companion to DCC installation and operation, the decoder tester works with ANY standard 8-pin or wires only DCC decoder. It can also be used to test for the presence of track power. Program without the decoder in the loco. Just connect black and red wires to the terminal on the tester and clip these to the track (using crocodile clips), connect your decoder via the supplied harnesses (or plug into the 8 pin connector) and control it via your DCC controller. The bulb will illuminate when track power is present, getting brighter as power is increased. Onboard LEDs show direction of travel and lighting functions activated.
There are indicator lights for motor forward and reverse, functions 0F, 0R, 1 and 2. Easily connect an optional motor for under load testing.
